Vivo preparing Xplay 3S follow-up in addition to its wafer-thin X5 Max

ChineseDroid
Vivo is on a roll.
Relatively unknown outside its native China, Vivo has been bringing to market many industry leading devices for some time now.
After teasing the thinnest phone in the world just last week, it’s now preparing a follow-up to what was the first QHD phone in the world, the Xplay 3S. Currently known as the Vivo PD1305, the phone allegedly features a 6-inch QHD IPS display (490 ppi), 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 805, Adreno 420 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage,a microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera (complete with OIS and dual LED flash), 8MP wide-angle lens front camera, LTE, and a 3,500 mAh battery.

Even more impressive? The screen will occupy almost 80% of the front. Rounding out the specs, the phone will run Kitkat 4.4.4 on top of Funtouch 2.0, Vivo’s own Android skin, use a nano-SIM, and come in at only 162 grams and 5.68mm thin.

This is a very exciting phone indeed, both in terms of its potential design and the fantastic hardware contained inside. If this, and other recent stories, are anything to go by, next year will be the year of super slim smartphones with cutting edge specs.
It’s also worth mentioning that in past week Vivo has provided more information about its aforementioned super thin device: Officially unveiled as the Vivo X5 Max, it will actually be 4.75mm thick and weigh only 146g. Additionally, it will also run on Kitkat 4.4.4 and feature a 5.5 inch, 1080p display, 1.7GHz octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, and LTE. Based on pictures, it will also have a headphone jack (unlike the Oppo R5) despite its super svelte shape:
Both of these phones look hot, and will definitely see this up-and-coming Chinese OEM placed firmly on the mainstream map provided Vivo can play its cards right. What do you think? Do either of these phones entice you? Leave a comment below and share your thoughts.
