Remote Power Up Your Personal Computer
Waking your PC remotely is helpful in many ways, like starting downloads on off-peak hours , running tasks via task scheduler when PC is not in use and so on. The objective is to keep the mean machine powered on while you are dozing.
Here is the list of steps:
- Enter the bios settings(press F2) while booting.
- Under the power tab, find the option "Wake up from S5/Wake on LAN".
- Set the desired time when you want your system to wake up.
- Save and exit the boot settings.
Just keep the power supply to the system ON and enter deep sleep.
PS: 1. You can set "0" in date for the task to run everyday.
2. Task Scheduler could also be used to achieve this but it works only when the system is in SLEEP mode.
